Everything is nearby and the staff is excellent. … read more The owner Elizandro is a very interesting man and I learned a lot about living in Cuba from him. You can see how much energy and love he puts in his hotel.
    Special thanks to the manager Jorge. He makes the best cocktails in town and tried his best to help us with every wish we had.
    I will definitely come back to this place 👍 Why should you stay in a state hotel without any personality if you can stay in a little gem like this 😉

Only two minutes after I've sent my booking request … read more is already had a message from Jorge the manager who said he was looking forward to welcoming me with a fresh cocktail! And of course he kept his promise! My stay at this Hotel was too short as there was so much to explore! Elizandro and his team made did a great job in furnishing this classic cuban building with an astonishing selection of antique furniture. They've put a lot of detail not only in the common areas but also in every single room. For example I had a very stylish old telephone in my room.
    The Hotel is located in central havana close to the famous malecon. You can reach the historical centre of havano within minutes by foot or a taxi which jorge or the receptions staff gladly organize for you. Restaurants and bars are nearby, but you don't really need to leave the Hotel for a delicous cocktail!
    Overall I must say this was a great experience and i will definitely return once i have the chance to visit havana again.

This place is … read more just breathtaking with its colonial architecture and thoughtfully hand selected interior. You see immediately how much effort Elizandro put into this little gem.
    I arrived late that evening and he was very welcoming and he also took a lot of time to show me around. The room was perfectly clean and I opted for the breakfast, which is delightful and served at the patio by the lovely staff.
    As this place is close to the famous Malecón, it's a good starting point to explore the city. I usually discover cities by walking around, and Elizandro could give me some helpful tips. He even organised a very friendly city guide, who showed me Old Havana, and a cab to the Playas del Este. It was a very nice experience and I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Havana to stay at this casa particular.

Why would you stay anywhere else in Havana?! This is a very well located, extremely well kept property. From arrival the staff were super welcoming and attentive. The room I stayed in was the cleanest I’ve ever experienced in Cuba! It was also very comfortable, spacious and had a nice balcony. Breakfast was substantial, cocktails and dinner truly delicious and inventive-top marks to the chef!! I would definitely stay here overnight again or even make a reservation for cocktails and dinner. Thank you for having me @boutiquehotelvapor156!!

Una gemma nascosta Il volo e' stato cancellato, e quindi mi serviva un posto tranquillo dove lavorare un paio di giorni a l'Havana. Ho trovato questo splendito hotel, piccolo e incredibilmente ben fatto, davvero un Boutique hotel. Il personale e' stato molto gentile, tanto piu' che avevo orari strani, dovendo lavorare di notte, cioe' ad orari europei . Colazione e drinks di notevole livello.

VAPOR 156! We stayed at the Vapor (premium room) for one night and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Will definitely be back. The property is well maintained and is furnished with beautiful antiques that you may never lay eyes on again. Vaulted ceilings, a great breakfast which was included and excellent hospitality from the manager, Jorge. Jorge was very attentive and genuinely enthusiastic about showing us the property. Perfect hotel, perfect people.....saved our trip to Havana! We arrived for a last minute nights' stay in Havana after 6 days in Valerdero. After booking a different hotel that had let us down terribly once we actually arrived, we stumbled across Boutique Hotel Vapor 156 after essentially being left in the streets of Havana at night. After seeing our distress at their door and despite the current climate, they welcomed us in with open arms, calmed us down and had no hesitation in setting up a room for us. Such incredible people and unbelievably welcoming, the hotel was perfect and more than what I could have dreamed of. Turning what could have been a terrible experience of Havana into a positive trip full of warmth, love and genuinely amazing human nature at its' very best. The next day we were greeted with a wonderful breakfast and then we spent the day with Jorge walking around both Central Havana and Old Havana and truly seeing what Havana was like, most definitely not your usual ' city tour'. If you are in Havana, you must stay at Boutique Hotel Vapor 156. I cannot recommend them highly enough and feel that you will only truly experience the real Havana if you stay here. Thank you to Jorge and all the team. Keep being the wonderful human beings that you are, you really are a fabulously sparkling hidden gem in the middle of Havana.

Perfect hotel with great stuff It was a really nice stay in this hotel during our first days in Cuba. Jorge and all people around him was very nice to us. He took us for city sightseeing and showed us noce places. Everything was clean and well prepared. Food was delicious. We spent a great time there. And biggest point I wanted to mention here - they helped us a lot when we couldn't leave Cuba with our original flight because of Corona outbreak - Jorge manage a rooms for us so we had a place where to saty overnigh and helped us with internet so we were able to buy new flight tickets and many other things which helped us to get home. So we completelly recommend this hotel for stay.

A perfect place to explore Havana from When I arrived in Havana in the later evening as a solo first time visitor, I was a little apprehensive of what to expect. I need not have been concerned. Javier, the night manager gave me a warm welcome and was able to point me in the direction of a local eatery. The room itself was very comfortable and well appointed. Next morning Jorge was most more than helpful in giving directions and suggesting places to visit. The location could not have been better, being a few minutes from the sea front (Malecon) with both the old city and the more modern Vedado within walking distance. I must add my apreciation of all the help offered when the Corona emergency made me cut short a stay in Varadero and reurn to Havana. A quick call to Jorge to say I was on my way and he had a room prepared as well as helping with travel advice and other arrangements. In all Vapor 156 os a perfect choice for someone who want to see the best of Havana and needs a place with someone who speaks perfect English, or German combined with great knowledge and customer service

Lovely little place, welcoming and helpful staff My partner and I stayed in early January 2020. Our Spanish is totally limited so I loved staying here with staff who were happy to help us out in English. The building is really pretty and recently renovated as you can see in the pictures. Nice hot water shower and cool air conditioning. We really enjoyed walking from the hotel to the old town to see the "real" Havana or one can take a taxi to the old town for approx 10 or 15 Cucs. Israel, one of the staff was especially the most friendly and helpful and welcoming when they checked us in and gave us a welcome drink and chatted to us in the courtyard. Israel gave us lots of tips for restaurants and transport too. Also Jorge really knew his stuff but I asked Jorge to show me a landmark on the map but he told me I don’t need a map and just told me all the directions. I got out onto the street and got lost and didn’t have internet so I wished Jorge had helped me with the map. I think Jorge just didn’t have the eyeglasses handy when I asked. The breakfast staff were really lovey doing an early breakfast for us before the official time when we had an early day program. Later in our Cuba trip we stayed at lovely Casa Particulars (homestays) with families which was really fun and homey, but it was great for our first few days in Cuba to stay in a hotel with 24 hour reception and English speaking staff to help us get into the groove of the country. We found it hard to find a hotel that was not super expensive, until we found this one. I definitely recommend Boutique Hotel Vapor 156, and will stay again when I come to Cuba next time.

A very good small hotel This was our first night in Cuba and we enjoyed staying at this small and stylish guest house very much. Our room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Most of all being new to the country we were impressed by the stylish antique furniture,chandeliers,candelabra and chaises longues. The staff were very welcoming and breakfast was nicely presented. The area is good-and a renowned but reasonably priced restaurant Bikeys is close at hand as well as a local food cafe called Loco de Cuba

Traumhafter Aufenthalt Ich war im Januar für 7 Tage in diesem Hotel, es ist super alles sehr Sauber und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das ist ist super lieb und hilfsbereit. Danke Javier, Israel, Dalia und Jorge ihr seid super macht weiter so. Es wird bei der Planung weiter Orte geholfen, Transfer organisiert usw. Ich kann dieses kleine aber familiäre Hotel sehr empfehlen. Es liegt im Zentrum von Havanna in der Nähe vom Melacon man kommt mit Taxi oder zu Fuß schnell in die Altstadt. Das Frühstück was im Hotel serviert wird ist sehr gut immer frischer Kaffee, Saft, Marmelade, Wurst, Käse und Eier je nachdem wie man es mag.
